BOOTH TYPES, HEIGHT LIMITS, AND LINE-OF-SIGHT RULES AT SEMICON WEST 2026

SEMICON West enforces detailed booth configuration regulations developed with the SEMI North American Exhibitors’ Committee. These rules exist to protect every exhibitor’s visibility and traffic flow. Violations discovered on-site must be corrected by 6:00 PM Monday, October 12 at the exhibitor’s own expense. Submit booth plans to semiconwest@semi.org by August 14, 2026.

Inline (Linear) Booth

Standard 10×10 feet. Maximum back wall height: 8 feet. Neighboring exhibitors on left and right. One aisle face. No hanging signs permitted.

Corner Booth

Inline booth positioned at the end of a row, with two aisle faces. All inline regulations apply.

Perimeter Booth

Inline booth backing to an outer facility wall. Maximum back wall height increases to 12 feet. No hanging signs permitted.

End-Cap Booth

10 feet deep by 20 feet wide. Maximum back wall height: 8 feet / maximum back wall width: 10 feet at center. Maximum height within 5 feet of side aisles: 4 feet. No hanging signs permitted.

Peninsula Booth

Minimum 20×20 feet. Three aisle faces. Maximum height: 16 feet including signage. Back wall restricted to 4 feet within 5 feet of each side aisle. Double-sided signs and logos set back 10 feet from adjacent booths. Hanging signs permitted for peninsula configurations of 4 or more booths.

Split Island Booth

Peninsula booth sharing a back wall with another peninsula. Full cubic content of space usable up to 20 feet maximum height. No back wall line-of-sight restrictions. Double-sided signs set back 10 feet from adjacent booths.

Island Booth

Four aisle faces. Minimum 20×20 feet, configurable to any larger size. Full cubic content usable up to 20 feet maximum height. Hanging signs permitted. Any booth structure exceeding 16 feet in height requires an engineer’s certification stamp on plans — plans must be kept in the booth and available for Fire Marshal review at all times.

Two-Story (Double-Deck) Booth

Permitted for island configurations only. Plans must be submitted to SEMI Show Management and the Moscone Fire Marshal by August 14, 2026 with a certified professional engineer’s wet stamp. Requirements include: UL-approved smoke detectors under the second story, fire extinguishers on each level, 42-inch minimum railing height, minimum 3-foot staircase width, maximum second-level floor height of 12 feet from first-story base, maximum total structure height of 20 feet. If the covered area exceeds 500 square feet, an overnight fire watch is required at $75 per hour — the exhibitor’s sole responsibility. Two-story exhibits are limited in number per hall and subject to Fire Marshal final approval.

HANGING SIGN RULES — SEMICON WEST 2026

Hanging signs — any signage suspended from the Moscone Center ceiling directly over contracted booth space — are only permitted for peninsula configurations of four or more booths and island configurations. They are not allowed for inline, linear, perimeter, end-cap, or smaller peninsula booths.

Rules every hanging sign exhibitor must know:

Maximum height: 20 feet from hall floor to top of sign (subject to hall-specific restrictions).

Minimum clearance: 8 feet from hall floor to bottom of sign.

Signs must stay within the booth boundary perimeter.

Flashing chaser lights are prohibited.

Installation by GES only — exhibitors and EACs may supervise but not perform installation.

Plans must be submitted to semiconwest@semi.org at least 60 days before move-in.

Engineering drawings with an engineer’s stress-point approval stamp and an exhibit building company compliance stamp must be on-site.

All hanging sign materials must be shipped to the GES advance warehouse to ensure timely installation — not to the show site.

CALIFORNIA UNION RULES AT MOSCONE CENTER — WHAT EVERY EXHIBITOR MUST KNOW

California is a mandatory union state. All labor performed for an hourly wage at the Moscone Center must be provided by workers belonging to a California-recognized union organization. San Francisco Union jurisdictions govern all exhibit installation, dismantling, signage, and carpet laying.

The one exception: a single company employee can personally set up their own exhibit if the task can be completed in 30 minutes or less, without any tools, and the booth does not exceed 10 feet in any direction (width, depth, and height). If any of those three conditions cannot be met, union labor through GES is required.

Audio-visual setup always requires Local 16 IATSE technicians, regardless of booth size. This includes projection, audio speakers, monitors, video switching, and computers. The only exception is a minimal, self-contained in-house setup (a monitor on a table with two computers). If you are renting any AV equipment, IATSE labor is mandatory.

Violation of union jurisdictions can result in Show Management shutting down your exhibit installation entirely — which puts your entire show investment at risk. Interior Today LLC coordinates all union-compliant labor for every exhibit installation we manage at Moscone Center. We know the rules, we work within them, and our clients have never had an installation stopped for union violations.

KEY COMPLIANCE DEADLINES FOR SEMICON WEST 2026 EXHIBITORS

Miss one of these dates and you are paying for someone else to fix your problem — if it can be fixed at all.

August 14, 2026: Booth plan submission deadline to SEMI Show Management (semiconwest@semi.org). Required for all exhibits. Mandatory for two-story and covered booth structures, which also require Fire Marshal submission by this date.

60 days before move-in (approximately August 9, 2026): Deadline for written requests for cross-aisle carpet, inflatable exhibit approval, raffle and prize drawing approval, balloon use, hazardous materials approval, vehicle display approval, and videotaping requests outside exhibit hours.

July 2026: NVYTES guest pass tool becomes available for exhibitors to distribute complimentary one-day passes.

October 8–10, 2026: Targeted move-in windows for color-coded booth groups.

October 11, 2026: Dark Day. No move-in. No freight.

October 12, 2026 by 6:00 PM: All exhibits fully installed. Hard deadline.

SEMICON WEST 2026 EXHIBITOR CODE OF CONDUCT — WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

SEMICON West maintains strict exhibitor conduct standards developed to protect every company’s investment in the show. Every booth staffer should know these rules before arriving on-site.

Booth Staffing: Every booth must be continuously staffed during all exhibit hall hours. All staff must be company employees or authorized representatives. Appearance and conduct must be professional and consistent with the standards of the exposition.

Sound Limits: Maximum 80 decibels. All sound equipment must be directed into the booth — not into aisles or neighboring booths. Show Management can require sound levels to be reduced or shut off entirely.

Photography: Only the official show photographer and credentialed media may photograph the general show floor during show hours. Exhibitors may photograph only their own booth and products. Unauthorized photography of another exhibitor’s products or displays — which are often prototypes or proprietary innovations — must be reported to Floor Managers or Security immediately.

Demonstrations: All demonstrations must remain within contracted booth space. Demonstrations, performers, or gimmicks in the aisles are prohibited. Equipment with moving parts requires special safety precautions.

Giveaways and Distribution: All collateral, samples, promotional items, and beverages must be distributed only from within contracted booth space. Distribution anywhere else inside or outside Moscone Center — in hallways, at building entrances, in hotel lobbies — violates exhibit rules and can result in loss of future priority points and exclusion from future shows.

Suitcasing and Outboarding: Non-exhibiting companies that attend SEMICON West and solicit business from aisles or off-site locations (hotels, restaurants) without a booth are engaging in suitcasing and outboarding — practices SEMI actively enforces against. Any company wishing to hold off-site events during show hours must either hold a minimum 10×10 booth space or have committed more than $80,000 in SEMICON West sponsorship.

Alcohol Service: Alcohol may only be served during show days, must be arranged through the exclusive caterer Legends Global Hospitality, and is strictly prohibited during installation and dismantle periods.

Early Teardown: Breaking down or packing before 4:00 PM on October 15 results in an automatic $500 penalty. No exceptions, no appeals.

Insurance: All exhibitors must carry $1,000,000 Commercial General Liability Insurance with SEMI as an additional insured. Certificates must be available upon request.

California Seller’s Permit: Exhibitors taking orders or selling merchandise at SEMICON West must hold a valid California Seller’s Permit. Apply through the California Board of Equalization at +1.800.400.7115 or boe.ca.gov.

INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITORS AT SEMICON WEST 2026 — VISAS AND TRADE FAIR BOND

Visa Requirements: International participants requiring a US visa should apply for a B-1 Business Visitor Visa no later than 90 days before planned travel. For an October 2026 arrival, that means applying no later than July 2026. Citizens of Visa Waiver Program countries should complete ESTA authorization before traveling. Visa invitation letters are available from SEMI — contact semiconwest@semi.org to request one.

US Department of Commerce Trade Fair Bond: SEMICON West has been approved as a Bona Fide Trade Fair by the US Department of Commerce under the Trade Fair Act of 1959. This designation allows international manufacturers to display equipment in the US on a temporary basis without paying duties and taxes. Only TWI Import Services can clear goods under the SEMICON West trade fair bond. Contact TWI at +1.702.691.9000. All goods entered under the bond must be re-exported or have duties paid within 90 days of the close of the exhibition.

Hotel Reservations: Book only through the official CMR housing block. Fraudulent housing companies regularly pose as official SEMICON West partners. If in doubt, verify directly with SEMI before providing any payment information.
